The manual says to discharge battery completely before the first charge. With the original battery I did that. I then went online and watched over 2 dozen videos and read multiple articles discussing E-bikes batteries and how to best utilize them to their full potential. First off these batteries don't have a BMS. A simple cheap timer set to 6 and a half hours will do your battery good in the long run as you don't want to keep your battery on the charger after it's been charged. You'll want to charge your battery when it gets to around 20% or the first bar on the display. Secondly you'll want to store your battery in a place that doesn't have massive temperature fluctuations. A steady temperature of around 70° is ideal. Don't charge your battery right after use either, let it settle for half an hour. Thirdly, if you're going to not ride your e bike for long periods try to store your battery at or around 70% charge. It's not recommended to keep your battery fully charged either. I believe the warranty covers 100 charges, so to get the most out of your e bike battery discharge to 20% then charge. I get around 25 miles using PAS 3 and slightly pedaling. Mostly throttle. A second battery doubles my range at the cost of weight. These spare batteries aren't light, but probably worth the investment if you're riding more than 30 miles a day. I've not been able to get the charge indicator that's on the actual battery to work on either my backup or original. It's there, but I'm not sure how to get it to work.
